Read a lot of these games for the plot and this is just a masterpiece. Aside from very few errors that needed to be rolled back, some grammatical errors, and some spelling errors, this game is so damn good. I already read/play these games mainly for the plotline rather than the "H-scenes" that these type of games tend to focus on but oh boy, I didn't even take a second to just look at the sex scenes because everything is just so tense! The pacing of the story is immaculate, the people are ALIVE, the love chemistry is organic, the main plot is fantastic, and the story telling is on another level! I've been playing a lot of these games for a while now and this is easily one of the few S-tier stories/games I've read/played so far among, probably, almost a hundred that I've looked at. Even if someone forced me to say anything even a little bad at this game/story I'd be struggling to think of an excuse to say any! So, with me in amazement, I looked into the devlogs and how's it going and saw that the dev was struggling with something in real life and it's safe to say that I wasn't happy either. I am happy that the dev is reassuring their community but I really do hope the dev doesn't rush things in their life problems. The updates can wait but the Dev's overall wellness is much more important. Stay safe Crispy Chicken! I hope everything turns out well on your end. And thank you for this absolutely beauty of a game!!!

The love interests are cute, the sex scenes are hot, and there's just a general level of quality that would require the dev putting effort in to get to.
My issue comes from the writing. I played up through chapter 5, and through most of that time I had a hard time staying invested in the plot. The dev is trying to tell a story, and I wouldn't even say it's a bad attempt or anything. However, there's a lot of points in the plot that just feel very weak narratively for me.
The very serious tone that this game tries to establish is many times betrayed by the fact that, when boiled down, the plot is just college age teens take on the corrupt city government. It's hard to take these intensive situations seriously when by all means the MC and friends are just a bunch of regular people with absolutely no training or background that would enforce making it through these situations. Suddenly the MC becomes a marksman ready to kill multiple times for a girl he knows virtually nothing about.
And that's where another problem stems from. The MC has absolutely no personal investment in this story. Before anything, he was simply a young man cut off from his parents and was trying to save up to attend college. That's it. Now you might say his reason for getting involved in this whole mess is to save a girl he cares about, which is true, but leads to my final issue.
There's no reason the MC should care about Alice. How do they first meet? The MC sees her being stopped by cops, and she proceeds to shoot said cops. MC dips home, she shows up at his door and holds him at gunpoint in order to stay at his place for the night. There's no past friendship, romantic moments promoting feelings of care, or anything really. The MC's whole reason for wanting to help her is because of an obscure "connection" he feels to her that even he can't really explain.
Sure props for basic empathy, but I need more than that. Even after we got involved with Alice, there's hardly any moments giving me any real reason to care bout her besides her just being in a shitty situation. Because the game is so plot focused, it does not leave a lot of room for more meaningful scenes with a lot of the love interests. This leads to rather quick relationship development, and while I wouldn't say it feels unnatural, it still leaves me wanting more time with the love interests rather than this corruption plot that I'm finding hard to care about.
There's other things I can nitpick about, but those are my main problems. I like the girls (especially tiffany)for the most part and want to see more of them, but I'm finding it really hard to keep myself invested in the plot enough to do so.

Absolutely solid, really hope this story reaches a conclusion. I'm hooked.

Love the game, but I've run into an issue where it's crashing on Android during the scene in the diner with Bailey. Anyone know a fix for this? Crash data pasted below.

This is an absolute gem of a game, I have not played many with similar quality, nor with a similarly intriguing presentation. While it does take some time to get moving, when it does, it is one of the best rides throughout. Expert foreshadowing, and great writing.\

This game is incredible, and I hope to enjoy more of its content, and any more content of different games that you release.

(P.S. Fuck you for having the best name crispy chicken)

I hope the update is released soon

Any chance you can upload the Android version somewhere else (Mega for example)? Media Fire never seems to work.

I remember liking it less the first time I played it, still liked it tho, but now it is one of my favorites. Congratz.

DUDE ! It was like watching an action movie

The cliffhanger in the end aaaaaaaaaargh i need more i feel that there's something about the MC (us) that we dont know yet, he (we) are a charismatic character, i am looking foward to the next chapter

Hi can I find out if there will be a mod or a multimode for all the games?

Wow I just wanna say, this is one of the best games I have ever played and read. There's a lot of vns out there that are just your typical moegap porn plot, but this, Arson Betrayal. I just have to give a round of applause to you (or your team) for making this game. This is definitely up there with one of the most well written western vn's I've read. Definitely in the same catergory as Once In A Lifetime. The potential of your story is astounding and I hope to read the full story once you finish the game. Cheer's man and hope you stay safe. :)

hi dev! I’m researching your project and let me say I’m extremely excited to play. Next on my list for sure. I was wondering if u could tell me how many renders and animations are included as of latest version or at least an estimate? Want to know how much content I can look forward too :)

As of now the game contains a total of 7 Chapters with 1 Interlude Chapter. In total, all those have 8,789+ images and 269 animations and a lot of words in them I lost count.

I'm surprised with this game...it's really nice, amazing story, great art, good animations,.... Congratulations on this piece of art.

Need more Tiffany

The game is very cool. I liked the animation very much. Thank you and we look forward to more. 🤍

Damn finally the update is here!! Thank you as always Crispy you are indeed one of the people I respect the most with your work and giving those sweet sweet updates, Keep up the awesome work as always fam :D

I saw that it said public release for 0.7 is on August 30th, but still don't see it, is it delayed again??When will it be available?

(1 edit) (+1)

It's already available publicly in my Patreon. I'm still waiting for Itch to approve the increase on my upload size limit so I can upload it here directly, but if not, I'll just link it through mirroring sites like Mediafire instead.

Any way to not miss the 2nd shot on the bridge with the rocket?

dlc1assist.rpy, around line 1830, in "Talk to Dr. Obyako". in the "else" case (already talked to the guy) a "jump dlc01_11" is missing, otherwise the talk scene plays again

(I think the assistent DLC is rushed, trying to compress the whole narrative from on-boarding to everyone's dead within one in-game day does not make a lot of sense. there's not more content needed but a more sensible time line, with "a week later" screens. give me as player a believable time frame, with the temporary MC reading the SOPs and learning about the serum and experiments - the new guy cannot give a "fresh perspective" w/o any insights into the work. spreading the story over, say, a month of in-game time ("We're currently synthesizing a new batch of the serum. The next in vivo application is planned in 4 weeks, a cancer patient in her terminal stage volunteered to become a probant." / "Here's your work laptop with all our data. Keep in mind that this device must not leave the lab. Make yourself familiar with our results and procedures and don't forget to talk to your colleagues to learn about there specific roles in out team.") would work imo better, and I'd believe the emotional bonds of the MC to his new co-workers)

started playing the public 0.6.4 - nice so far, looking forward to see the plot unfold.

a few remarks about your gallery:

* currently the "show" button only displays the preview image, but the replay of yet unseen scenes is still locked

* the replay uses the default name of the MC

* you prepared a, still unused, variable (persistent.gallery_name) but a separate one is imo not needed: you have two perfectly fine variables: persistent.pov and persistent.povlastname

I propose to do something like:

default persistent.pov = "Leo"
default persistent.povlastname = "Somerfort"

-> somewhere in one of your generic files, to prevent crashes when the name was not yet set (the current setter is in 01ACT.rpy around line 180, before the 2 persistent variables are invalid)

replace in replay.rpy around line 20 the current "action Replay(Replay_items[i].replay)" with

action Replay(Replay_items[i].replay, locked=False, scope = {"povname": persistent.pov, "povlastname": persistent.povlastname} )

-> locked=False mitigates the issue that unseen scenes are still locked, even when persistent.replayUnlocked is true (i.e. "show" button used)

-> the scope gives the replay a list of variable mappings, here first and lastname of the MC from the persistent store

to update the name depending on the used save extend label after_load (in screens.rpy around line 20) with

$ persistent.pov = povname
$ persistent.povlastname = povlastname

a few bonus typos:

I've played lots of AVN the past few months now but I gotta submit my comments here, The Arson Betrayal is definitely a banger! God the immersion of the story and plot, i kept on saying "if there'll be a movie about this, it must be a solid 10". The downside is just bits of here and there but nothing worth atttention, (could be polished but doesn't affect if it doesn't). But, overall, a solid 9/10 I'd say! Can't imagine how stressful it was to create hours and hours of content but CCP, you've done a great job! At this point, I don't care about the nsfw contents anymore i just want the story xD.

и еше игра будет гаремом?
